Chronology

MayJuly
June 2008

6th: Aligning the rear spar in preparation for attaching the root ribs.

6th: Using two carpenter squares to set the 19-inch spacing between the front and rear spar reference holes. This is much easier than the method used for the right wing, which involved computing the diagonal.

6th: Left wing work goes much faster, now that I know that the root rib attach angles have to be removed from the spar. Here's the forward rib, ready to rivet, next to the drawing to make sure we use the right rivet sizes and everything is according to plan.

7th: Riveting the aft root rib onto the root attach angle. Layout is on the drawing to make sure we have the right rivets.

8th: Drilling the pilot holes through the main spar after leveling and drilling the aft spar and ribs.

8th: Clecoed the wing walk and root doubler to the aft skin for drilling out to #30.
