30th: Working on the right rear spar: final fitting with clecoes before riveting. Complete rivets, need to drill pilot holes for the ribs yet before putting away. Because it is easier to drill without the ribs in place, I made a pilot hole template from scrap to drill the pilot holes in the spar.

30th: The root and tip ends of the right and left rear spars.

30th: The spar splice plate clecoed in place, with the drawing sheet above. The drawing says to trace from the drawing, but it was just as easy to draw on the metal, using a cone thread spool for the radius. I cut one, used it to trace the other, then stack-drilled them both.

30th: The doubler plate for the aileron push tube access, clecoed in place. The outer edge gets riveted to one of the ribs, so placement is very important.

1st: Layout of the detail parts for the rear spar: the attach plates need to be deburred and trimmed; the root rib attach angles need bent and trimmed: one shown completed, the other bent but not cut. The wingtip attach brackets are cut from .032 1x1 angle. Most of this month was spent on travel, so only worked on the project the last week of the month, ending the first year of construction.
