Waiex Kitplane Project for Sale

For sale: Waiex Kit S/N 44 (Model A), $20,000 OBO, as is, where is.

The Waiex is a two-place all-metal low-wing homebuilt from Sonex. The project consists of the complete airframe kit and engine, minus a short length of angle aluminum used for rework that hasn't been replaced. The stub rudder and wings are complete, except for one aileron. The kit is unfinished primarily due to lack of adequate workspace after a household move and partly due to medical issues that make it impractical for the current builder to obtain a medical certificate.

The kit is conventional gear, with a Jabiru 3300 engine, S/N 1544, still pickled in the crate. The kit includes the final drawing set and the Y-tail stiffener kit. The project was inspected by an EAA Tech Advisor and signed off before the wings were closed.

The kit does NOT include propellor, instruments, or upholstery.

The sale includes a wing rack on castors, and a set of legs and castors to convert the shipping pallet containing the flat stock into a 12'x4' workbench. It also includes a small parts bin with small parts, rivets, and other fittings and fasteners sorted and labeled. Other accessories include the Aerovee carburetor and throttle quadrant, plus navigation lighting. The wings have conduit installed and landing light brackets installed, but the wing skins have not been cut.
